Pastel Portraits by Sherry Clark, PSA

Sherry Clark is a portrait artist in Fort Worth, Texas who paints with pastels to create award-winning portraits. She is drawn to the pastel medium because of its permanence, beauty, and enduring brilliance.

Basically a representational artist, she is inspired by color, light, and shadow. Most of her portraits are detailed with a hint of impressionism. “I truly believe that the eyes are the mirrors of the soul and are my favorite part of the portrait to paint.”

Sherry Clark is a Signature Member of The Pastel Society of America.

A note about Pastel

“Pastel is pure pigment-the same pigment used in making all fine art paints. It is the most permanent of all media, when applied to conservation ground and properly framed. Pastel has no liquid binder that causes other media to darken, fade, yellow, crack, or blister with time. Pastels from the 16th century exist today, as fresh as the day they were painted. Never any restoration needed.”
